Re: considering a second van...the addiction goes to phase 2

Personally, I like the blue Ford Racing 9mm wires for the 5.8L. The wires have the number printed on them along the length of the wire for the cylinder they go to. And they are individually made to the specific length necessary for that cylinder. Make sure that you don't cheap out, make sure that you buy the plug wire separators too. Arcing between 6 and 8 cylinder wires is common causing a stumble or miss under load. If you ever have a crank no start, pull the SPOUT connector and see if it starts then post here or pm me. You can replace the frame rail fuel filter under the driver's seat easily with the right AC disconnect tools. You can also replace only the Bosch in tank fuel pump without replacing the entire fuel sender, but buy some Raychem heat shrink tubing which is rated for fuel immersion for the wire connections (if you don't use the supplied butt connectors and solder instead). If your electric windows ever go clunk clunk clunk, post here or pm me for a solid, easy and inexpensive fix:

Re: considering a second van...the addiction goes to phase 2

^^^ windys are manual, but great advice otherwise! really appreciate the responces guys, thank you

were going to drive a few other piles and likely get back to this guy next week. see if he will let us take it to the shop and put it up on a lift for a better inspection. see if we can isolate the leak and determine if we wanna deal with it. it was raining today and we went right after work, so neither of us wanted to roll around in the dirt to look at oil and dirt in our work clothes, lol.

btw, whats the biggest tire you can put on a stocker van and not get rubbing? its got 265/75/16's. is that about the limit? not that i want huge meats, just thinking clearance. is there any way to "lift" and still be able to align without going to a real lift kit? spring upgrade maybe??

...feels weird being home on a friday night

Yeah, 265 is about the limit without either lifting, or trimming the front fender and bumper. I think it would take a 285 with a little trimming. It'll probably rub the sway bar though (by 265s do), at full lock.
