Re: Diesel warm up time / temp?

I realize that how one takes care of a vehicle is directly relative to what one paid for it. Example: At work, we have lots o' diesels, from big rigs down to delivery vans. The throttles for almost everyone are like switches with two settings, off or on (full throttle). I'm a little more careful than most because I just don't see the need to abuse engines, but most romp on 'em constantly. They don't warm them up. They don't check the oil. They redline diesels all the time. They start them up and put the pedal to the floor spewing smoke everywhere for about 10 seconds, then speed away, even in winter. They still last. Sprinters, Freightliners, Fords, etc. They still last quite a long time.
