Re: engine
Lower gears. If your tires are oversized, go with 4.56.
There's other mods too, but that's the best bang for your buck. If you still want more, there's the Banks PowerPack, and tuners. I've done all three, and regularly run at over 22,000 pounds combined, sometimes up to 25,000.
Even stock, they still have 305hp, which is hardly underpowered. What are you towing? Is this a used van? Is it up on it's maintenance?

Re: engine
Carring, do you know what additional hp and torque you are getting with your mods?
I called Banks the other day and I think they said it runs about $4000.00 for the whole package. I think they stated 50hp and 70 torque.

Re: engine
I thought the Banks numbers were a little higher. But regardless, I think the gains were more than they advertise. Banks has sales sometimes. I bought my powerpack for around $1700 and had a local shop install it for a couple thousand. That does not include the cost of the trancommand or OttoMind. I pulled the OttoMind when I started running the Predator, which I believe claims about +35hp for the V10.
But the best upgrade is gearing. Torque = better launch, and lower gears = more torque.

Re: engine
Thanks form the help, I bought the vehicle used and the previos owner did not take very good care of it. I have already had to replace the tranny after lossing the pump over spooner summit. The van seem to lose power on long grades, so i replaced the fuel filter, still no change in the problem. I am doing a fuel pump pressure test today. The van has 4:10 gearing and i have added 2" more of lift with 35" tires. When i added the 35" tires I had no idea that it would have such big inimpact on the power (didnt affect my Dodge cummins). I will change the gearing next.

Re: engine
Hey Todd. Your V-10 really should be fine with 4:10s. Lower gears will give you more "power", but me thinks you need to look elsewhere. Checked the compression? That'll give you a good idea on rings and valves. You might check with Curt and have him run a compression check. If you want to do it yourself, give me a call afore Sunday morning and you can borrow my gage. Pretty easy check....
Saw you drive by the other day, where's the wrap?? Get the leak fixed? I'm headed to Alaska on Sunday, or I'd dig into it with you.

Re: engine
4.56 or even 4.88 will be your freind. The next best thing is a custom tune from Mike at 5 star tunning. It does wonders on the transmission shifting. He is the V10 guru and can make sugestions on mods.
