Fuel Filters for the 6.0PSD

Hey Guys,

I just bought fuel and oil filters for my 06 6.0 PSD. I was expecting the larger primary fuel filter to have the water absorbing membrane. I bought the filters at my local dealer. He told me that the van does not have the membrane??? Is this right?

Thanks in advance for the help.

BTW - looks like a bitch getting to the secondary filter on top of the engine.

No membrane. There's a sensor and a drain valve on the primary filter, located below drivers side frame rail.

Getting ready to do both filter, any words of windoms or links to Intructions for dummy.
By the way, am I supposer to drain the water manually on the main filter.

I only use Ford/Motorcraft filters. The top filter is tough to reach but doable. Don't over tighten, 14nm.

There are lots of videos on YouTube, pretty much the same as the trucks, just less room.

I've done this several times on my own now following that guide, and I've never escaped without some bloody knuckles.
