I want to put a limited slip diff in a : '07 GMC Savana 2500 6.0 rwd.
12 bolt cover, 8 bolt hubs.
I am looking for ring gear dia. I think it's 9.75
Spline count. And anything else I need to know.
So far no one has been able to decode this label.
Thanks GH

Can't help you with the ring gear diameter or spline count, but I'm interested in the answer. My google search results are all over the place and most information doesn't seem to apply to newer vehicles. If I'm able to find anything I'll post it.

I have a 2008 GMC Savana with an auto locker. My tag has LOC for diff. My gears are 4.10.

Ok, found this website:
Dana Holding Corporation - The Expert Axle Bill of Material

Your axle tag has 6684 1. This is a traditional Bill of Material (BOM) that doesn't include the first two digits of 60 or 61 (the first two digits are not normally included on the axle). Enter 606684-1 at the above site and you get an axle information that appears to match what you have, STD 3.73.

Interestingly, the number for my axle in the upper left corner is 2009952-4 which is a later BOM number. 200 series numbers include the first three digits.

Do you have "248" on your differential (lower corners on axle housing by cover)? On my axle, I have "248" on the differential. I believe this is the ring gear diameter in millimeters, but likely rounded to 9.75 in inches.

This site has the specs for a Dana 60/248 and they sell differentials (just found looking on the internet so know nothing about it):
https://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/DiffD...=Diff&TypeID=3

Ring Gear Diameter: 9.750
Cover Bolts: 12
Ring Gear Bolts: 12
Spline Count: 33
Dropout: False
Pinion Support: False
Carrier Breaks: 4.10 / 4.56
Rear Suspension: Solid
Pinion Nut Size: 1-5/16

So, you likely have a Dana 60, ring gear diameter 248mm, BOM 606684-1. You should be able to check all this and find what you need.

Thanks for an informed detailed reply. This has been a PIA search.
I had tried the add 60 or 200 to the Dana p/n to no avail.
I will follow your lead and see how I do.
I did receive a relevant reply from:
www.EastCoastGearSupply.com

They told me the axle in my van would only take an open carrier.
If this is so it changes my search to one for an entire axle.
I'm just back from a trip and more pressing matters have arisen.
I will dig into this shortly using your leads.
Thanks again for a useful reply.
I'll post my results, hopefully useful, soon.
The Dana site is a bit obtuse.
Randy's is a site just recommended to me by my gear head nephew.
It seems to have promise.
I'll have to contact these folks after Easter.

Welcome. Interesting about not being able to upgrade. I'm sure there are a lot of used axles available. Yeah, agree about the DNA site. Good luck.
