Mag-Hytec Tranny Pan

I know these have been mentioned before, but I just wanted to let everyone know about a good sale price I found this week for the Mag-Hytec Trans pan. I ordered thru http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com. Price was $315.20 shipped. They are in Kentucky, but I believe it shipped from Cali as it arrived in two days.

Got it it today and I'm impressed. It's a nice cast aluminum piece with the o-ring installed, large cooling fins, 7.5 quart extra capacity, magnetic drain plug, and even is pre drilled and tapped for a temp sensor(plug installed with anti-seize! for those who don't need). All needed bolts and washers are also supplied.

Just waiting on my new filters now and I'll get this thing installed.

Cheers.

tskyhi .
You will be pleased with this addition , if possible try running a synthetic Trans Fluid when you do your installation , it seems to allow it to shift better and of course your operating temperature's should drop as well .

Greg,

Since he has a PSD and the only trans is the TorqueShift, the only approved fluid is synthetic fluid.

Re: Mag-Hytec Tranny Pan

I got a shipment of the Amsoil "universal ATF" which says on there website is okay for Mercon SP. The cases I got, however, only list Mercon and Mercon V with no mention of SP. I know they had a previous formulation that was not SP compatible, so I wonder if I got some back stock. I guess I'll call them and see what's up. There's no way I'll put this in my tranny, though.

Oh well, I was hoping to get this on this weekend.

Correct the new formula come out a year or so ago, and I'm 99% certain that the Amsoil ATF I used specificed Mercon SP compatability in the label.
