New x-gauge functions for 6.0psd

Not sure if this has been covered yet, but I noticed yesterday that scangauge has introduced some new x-gauge functions for the Ford 6.0psd.

New and helpful to me were turbo boost, EBP pressure and EGR valve position.

All the info is on their website.

Thanks....now they need to come out with a gauge that reads more than 4 things or cycles through more.

Dave, I was thinking just that yesterday when programming these new functions. A six or eight item display would be a lot more useful to me than four.

You can daisy chain two ScanGauges and read 8 functions at the same time.

The Edge Insight CTS is very cool. I have 5 functions reading on mine but 8 is possible: http://www.edgeproducts.com/product.php?pk=145&pvk=405

I especially like the corrected speedometer function--I calibrated mine using a GPS. Just keep changing the rotation/mile on the Edge until the speed matches your GPS. About 11% difference on mine from stock. Be sure to add corresponding change to your fuel mileage calculation!

I also love the back up camera feature that turns on when the rig is in reverse. I had a cheap camera from another project which works fine.

Had one of the other ones on another rig. Hated it. $180 tachometer/voltmeter.

I agree that the CTS is cool but if your going to bag on the scanguage you should also mention that the Edge CTS costs more than twice as much. For $400 you don't get much more functionality other than the backup camera option and a color screen. You only get EGT if you buy the $100 add-on. The scanguage is what it is. A compact guage with digital readout that doesn't have the bells and whistles and pretty much does the same thing as it's more expensive cousin.

Just say'n cause I'm bored and at work and it's snowing out in the sunshine state.

It's worth twice as much because it, like, works and all.

Does the ScanGauge have a calibrated speedo you can read at a glance?

They both work. The Insight is nicer. Sometimes plain and simple is nicer. To each his own but yes, you can calibrate the speedo on the Scanguage. I used the Nav and GPS on my Alpine Head Unit.

It also comes down to what you want to monitor. For me, it's basically 4 fuctions: EOT, ECT, RPMs, and TFT. If I want to know something else it's not that big a deal to change to FICM voltage or boost pressure or any of the ~30 other things you can monitor. I don't need to see 8 different readouts. Maybe some do. I'm just defending it because it works.

Re: New x-gauge functions for 6.0psd

I finally mounted my scan-gauge today. It has been floating around the dog house, falling on the floor, wire in my lap for almost 4 months. I just have it Velcro-ed to the top of the steering column and use the side USB port. All it blocks for me is the PND321 display. The wire is tucked up and zip locked behind the lower dash panel. I'm very happy with it's value and functionality. The 4 displays are also enough for me and with mpg being one of them it really modifies my driving. Even so I put $150 in it today. 32.6 gallons at $4.45/gal! Same old 13. 5 mpg. The fuel calibrations and related tank statistics seem pretty close now that is calibrated. I programmed a 42 gallon tank into it rather than the 46 actual because I do not feather in that last 4 gallons. I just stop when it clicks off. I even did the racing functions one time but in the diesel pig it was not very exciting. I do recommend this device. Just know what it can and can't do when researching the devices.
