Opinion on Wheels

I picked up some Mickey Thompson Classic Rims (3100lb load rating, made by Alcoa) but I am thinking about the look. I like the Polished look but was thinking about Gloss Black powder coat. Not a big fan of the Semi Flat finish of the Baja wheels. Currently the Van is White with Black graphics. I may keep it that way but may change to Black next year. Will be adding Aluminess bumpers and will go Gloss on them as well and think that they would look good with the Black wheels. I could always do this later as well. Just want your Opinions.

Re: Opinion on Wheels

I had polished aluminum rims, and got rid of them because I couldn't keep them shiny.

Tried chromed aluminum next. Brake dust was a pain to deal with. They did look nice when washed though. But I damaged those.

Now I have matte black ultra goliaths. Love em.

The black rims are definitely the lowest maintenance option. Even when they are dirty, they don't really look it. And it barely shows the brake dust.

Re: Opinion on Wheels

The complete black out thing is overdone here in California, where trends tend to be set. Chrome and shinny things never go out of style. I'd like to add chrome bumpers to my van instead of the factory gray, especially after I added the Ford alloys.

Re: Opinion on Wheels

j.whitbread (or anyone else) I've still got a set of stock chrome bumpers free for the hauling. Came off my '07.
