SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE - What parts apply

Ok, this is a request for info from a mechanic (pro or do-it-yourself) on the forum to verify which of the following parts are in my van and therefore have Ford maintenance schedule requirements that will apply:

1. cabin air filter
2. half shalf boots
3. zerk fittings on:
a. steering linkage
b. ball joints
c. suspension
d. tie rod ends
e. driveshaft
f. U-joints

The van is a 2 wheel drive 2010 Ford E250 5.4L V8 gas engine with automatic transmission and a regular body with recreation vehicle package.

Re: SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE - What parts apply

1) Does not have one

2) Rear wheel drive, solid axle, does not have CV's, CV boots or half shafts

3) Grease Fittings on:

Tie rod: 2

Drag link: 2

Lower Ball joints: none but you can install some if you take out the plugs and replace with 1/4-28 zerks.

Drive shaft: one piece, no slip joint therefore no gease fitting

U Joints:most likely sealed

Re: SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE - What parts apply

You were on the money with this info Silver350. I was getting conflicting info from a couple other places. Went into the dealer for scheduled maintenance and asked to see under the van. They looked and found no cabin air filter. They pointed out the zerks on the steering linkage. Got to peek at another vehicle to see what half boots look like. Now I know I got the right maintenance done. Thanks!

From an older post:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2057

Not sure if it applies to all vehicles.
