Re: Semi vs Full Floating axles
Fantastic explanations, thanks!
Looks like a full floater came stock on my 2008 E350...
Thanks again everyone!

Re: Semi vs Full Floating axles
Unless it came with the Dynatrac full-floater, (+/- $4000.00 extra), it didn't come with a full- floater. (I don't believe).

Shoot! My memory was wrong and you were right...no full floater.

Re: Semi vs Full Floating axles
As heavy as some of our vans are, and since a couple of forum members had semi-floating axle failures, a full-floater is cheap insurance against getting stuck somewhere remote.
Sorry, I should never make a sentence that long.
A few of us have installed full-floating axles from E350 cutaway vans. From my local truck wrecker it was $1500 including a ratio change and a limited slip differential. No more worries. About the axle, anyway.

Passenger vans got them, depending on year. My '00 came with the 70 FF. I also know that the '09 passenger vans (RB & EB) with RSC also got the 70 FF. I think ordering the RV-prep package on a gasser cargo van also earned you a full float, since those also came with RSC.

To float or not to float, that is the question!
