Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic Heavy Duty Engine Oil 5W-40, 1 Gallon
Saw this on Amazon today. I don't use Rotella in my 7.3L, but for this price I might change.
On Amazon, $19.95/gallon
(with a $7/gallon rebate) (limit 4 rebates/person or household)
so, only $12.95/gallon

Whenever I've been asked "what kind of oil should I use for..." (which is more often than you'd think) I always respond with "Shell Rotella" before I've even been told what it's going in. I'm surprised my wife hasn't fried up some chicken in it yet. Good stuff, and cheap!

Looks like this rebate program runs through the end of this year, purchase by 12/31 and post mark mail-in rebate forms by Jan 15th 2019.
I wish this same sort of promo was going on for a superior grade of 5w20---I'm looking for a new brand since there's a new engine going in my 2005 E350 5.4.

It is interesting that this just came up. I was looking at a thread on the G503 Forum on the oil people are using in their WW II Jeeps. Rotella came up as one of the oil of choice because of the high zinc content. The consensus was that the old gas motors worked better with it even though it was designed for Diesel engines.

Speaking of Rotella I just yesterday bought 2 gallons of 15W-40 T5 for $13.99 each, local Advance Auto.
They seem to run occasional "sales" where price drops significantly, the duration of that drop varies but they're a good go-to when price is a consideration.

Rotella T 6 Synthetic
We used Rotella T for 16k engine ours in our boat's main engine and 4,5k in the generator with zero issues. surveyed as new after 14 years.
Wallymart has T6 for $22/gallon. Just filled our 7.3 Ford with T6 and its what the former owner used.

Just my two cents...
I have a 2001 7.3L Excursion Limited and I exclusively use Rotella T6 Diesel synthetic. I tow a 31 foot travel trailer and have a chip, intake, larger exhaust and gauges. I have been really please with the Rotella and the analysis comes back very good. I also use the same Rotella in my 6.5L turbodiesel Suburban and have 200K trouble free miles.
