lol, that was good.

and to be fair, every time i walk into our local diesel performance shop, theres at least one truck with the cab removed...and its not always a 6.0 ford. seem to see a lot of chevys. which is kinda wierd, cause i dont hear a lot of trash talk about those.

The Duramax has its own share of problems too. I think the main difference is the cause-and-affect relationship is much more clear when things go south in the Duramax, vs the 6.0 where any symptoms seems to have at least a dozen probable causes. I have no doubt that a large percentage of repairs on the 6.0 are because of improper diagnostics the first time around, and to be fair many of the diagnostics procedures include the phrase "replace with known-good part".

Re: Sorry, couldn't resist...

Hey, PatO how many miles do you have on your 6.0 and how much have you spent in repairs and/or prevention? I'm not looking for an exhaustive list or anything, just an estimate. If its gone well then maybe there should be a "6.0 success" thread if there isn't one already? Or maybe I just typed something completely ridiculous that is going provide a lot of guys a lot of laughs...

Re: Sorry, couldn't resist...

Well when it's working and I have enough fuel to get home when my buddies V-10 might not make it to the gas station after we both fueled up at the same place-same time, I love my 6.0, BUT during those times when I'm being towed:

Re: Sorry, couldn't resist...

Thanks Dave, it appears that the "6.0 success" thread has begun with a very fitting, sort of back handed comment!
