Re: This is getting ugly
One of my good friends just spent around $10K on all the fixes and upgrades, for the same reason, the engine was out of the van, so better do it now.

Re: This is getting ugly
I think you made the right decision doing the extra work now while they are in there. in the long run it should give you years of perfect service after this. Its too bad it is tied up right now but at least you are at home not in some far off place having to deal with it long distance. At least you can go and visit it.
I have been in the Automotive Industry my whole life and I can tell you that while it is done every day customers always hate seeing major work being done to their vehicle. It scares them to see all of the pieces and parts that have to come off for an engine to come out, the body off the frame, major collision repair or the interior completely apart, they think there BABY will never be the same. If they never saw it they might never know how much it was apart.
I hope you get it back soon and that it is better than it was 5 years, 10 months (maybe 11 by now) ago.
...Jamie

What are you doing with the turbo? Keeping the OEM?

Re: This is getting ugly
Bigvans, I would never do that. Very unfriendly, illegal in all 50 states, and no desired advantage.
Pat, the turbo will be re-installed along with all the other stuff. No problems with it, working fine.....

Unfriendly? Look at what we are driving and what this forum is devoted to.

Ha! Might as well make it "unsinkable" while you're at it.
