What wheels fit?

Looking for new wheels on craigslist, and couldn't find the info with a search... I currently have the factory steel rims and 225/75/16s.

What vehicles do stock (ie. 2wd) E350s share wheels with? I know that the bolt pattern is 8x6.5, which is pre-99 F-series and Dodge/Chevy. If I find a set of Dodge wheels, for example, will the backspacing be correct? How about a '98 F-series?

What about the center hole - is that standard? I know very little about this stuff. Don't want to end up with wheels that don't fit, or that cause problems down the road.

If anyone has wheels and/or some lightly-used 265-75-16 tires to sell, let me know

Cheers,
Mike.

PS - It seems that 265-75-16 is the biggest tire that'll fit a stock E350... anyone know otherwise?

I think you can get a great set of rims new for your van for under $200 a piece. look a American Racing Rims you might be suprised how affordable they are and sometimes shipping is free.

Re: What wheels fit?

Dodge and Chevy wheels have a smaller center bore. Will not fit. Pre-'99 F-series have the same bore and bolt pattern, but not sure about backspacing.

Re: What wheels fit?

A good source for wheel information on 2wd van mods is www.thumpertalk.com. Search "motovan". Thumper Talk is a motocross, 4 wheeler, etc group. Some prefer to transport their toys in what they call a motovan. Most like to put on a cool set of rims and tires. It's fun to look at their handiwork.

You're right - but I'd rather get a whole set for that price My budget for purely aesthetic items is fairly limited!

Awesome - good to know. Thank you!! I can probably confirm backspacing from discounttire.com, by checking what wheels they suggest for each year.

Re: What wheels fit?

Most aftermarket rims have the larger center hole that Ford and Dodge need. Stock Ford and Dodge had a large center hole, Chevy had a smaller hole. This was the rule of thumb when I worked at a salvage yard "everything fits Chevy, Chevy fits nothing else"
