Wheel size

I have just purchased a Quigley, E-250 is there a preferred wheel and tire size?
I have 16' stock wheels. My F-350 has 18" wheels plenty of snow & off road miles. Tire price better for 18" or 17" inch wheels?

Thank you for your imput.
Joe.

The smaller the wheels, the cheaper the tires. That said, 17” probably gives you the widest variety of sizes and options.

Keep in mind that the van and pickup have different bolt patterns. Van is 8x6.5" whereas the truck is metric, 8x170mm. They do not interchange! You can't just stick a pickup wheel on a Ford van without using adapters.

As for price - as the rim size goes up so does the price in my experience. 17" tires are more expensive than 16" and the 18" more expensive than 17". Go figure - less rubber - more money!

Garage
^^^ trucks and vans had the same bolt pattern through 1999 I believe. So depending on what year his rigs are, they could interchange.

His quigley could have stock f350 hubs as well depending on year. Meaning the fronts could be 8x170 and the rear could have 8x165 to 8x170 adapters on the original oem axle, meaning if both rigs are later years they could also interchange.
