While searching options in this area for larger vehicles like vans, I ran across report of Via V-Drive that will supposedly be shown at LA Auto Show. Haven't seen that myself, but found system for GM conversions interesting. Electric motor rated 402 HP, generator half that at 201 HP, and 24 kWh of battery capacity.
The conversion system is available in 4WD also. Both are series hybrid and can run in all electric mode. They classify it as an extended-range electric vehicle. No idea of cost but must be very expensive.
