12v fan
My new to me sportsmobile is missing a fan. you can see the wires sticking from the wall and the two indented parts of the trim where it was mounted. It also shows on the build sheet a fan was once there. Can anyone tell me what kind of fans are used or what works for you? Also if anyone has an extra one they took off or arent usung maybe i could buy it from you. Thanks!

Re: 12v fan
I actually replaced our original SMB-installed fan with a Caframo fan:

It has a soft plastic fan blade so you won't injury yourself if you accidentally hit the fan when it is on.

Re: 12v fan
Use those wires to install a 12v plug and get an Endless Breeze fan to plug in there. They are amazing!

Re: 12v fan
I don't know what was there originally, but I'm partial to the Hella Turbo fans I prefer the "sound" they make better than the others, and the knob is easy to reach and manipulate. The blades are caged, which I prefer even though the softer blades don't "hurt" you. But I have also used the Caframo 747/757. It has the open blades, a switch slightly behind the blades, and to me, a plastic smell that lingers. Very good fans though if those things are no biggie. Maybe longer lasting (after a couple of years of 24/7, the Hella bearings start to rattle).
Either of the above just sip power (like .2 amps).
I'm not a huge "fan" of the Endless Breeze because it is very large (to place or store) and draws a minimum of 1.9 amps. I prefer the marine fans permanently mounted, and aimed right on me at night if it is hot.

Re: 12v fan
When I replaced my broken fan, I just picked up one of these from Amazon. Took the clip off and it bolted right up...

Won't hesitate to buy the same one again for my new van. Worked great and doubled as a white noise machine.

Re: 12v fan
I've got one in the garage that I took out. You can have it for the cost of packing & shipping. Probably $20 +/-.
It's what you need if you want to go "original SMB", but in my opinion it's a piece of junk and you'd be better off with one of the upgrades suggested by others.

Same here.............if you want two. I'll bet you could get 6 or 8 of em all removed from SMBs without much trouble.

Re: 12v fan
I've installed the Caframo 747/757 Ultimate fan.......wish it was a bit better balanced, other than that it works well. The 747 version has a 12V plug and the 757 is the same fan with a wire pigtail, no plug. They come in black or white.

Re: 12v fan
This is a little off topic, but when I turn on my fan, it spins the wrong way!! There's no switch to change the direction. is it wired the wrong way?
I may be next in line for one of these take off fans!
