Exclamation Airtronic D4 with 7 day timer

My Espar heater never has been right, I am the third owner and the person I purchased my SMB from told me the Espar had issues. I finally figured it out!

Problem: The heater would turn on and heat but would never shut off automatically as it should by the 7 day timer temp setting. It would run on low heat until I manually shut it down.

Fix: At the rear of the 7 day timer there is a connector that apparently was configured by the installer. There is a cabin temp sensor mounted beside the timer that should be connected to the brown with white stripe wire at pin 9 and to the gray wire going to the airtronic heater. My problem was that the gray wire was inserted into pin 1 of the connector. I cut the gray wire at pin 1 and that fixed the problem. Furnace now functions as it should!

Woot!!

Espar wiring diagrams and instructions leave much to be desired. Luckily I found a website where the guy had my exact controller and followed his directions.

Only issue is my temp sensor sits in a hot spot so I have to keep pumping up the temp. Easy fix though.
