Anyone have real wood interiors?

Hi,

Are there any other SMB vanners using real wood for the interior? I saw the link of the stealth climber van, thanks Jage.

I am designing and building my interior with real wood and would like to hear from others who have done this.

Insulation question: Who has installed their own insulation and what did you use? Any thing to avoid while doing this?

I will be using Lizzard Skin for insulation, but is it necessary to add a second layer of "cotton candy" insulation as well? I will be doing winter camping.

Any useful suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Zugg

I don't know what lizzard skin is but be careful to allow water & condensation to exit between the van walls. I believe this is why SMB only uses the cotton and not expanding foam.

Hi Jage,

A friend suggested Lizzard Skin for insulation. It sprays on and seals the exposed metal-thus no condensation build-up inside the van walls.

There is also a sound proofing application made by Lizzard Skin.

Check out these 2 links below, they give some insights.

There is also Jammy's (not sure if it fits your bill for "real" wood) Homemade Sportsmobile

Real wood interiors?

Hi Jage,

Thanks for the link. I have seen this van personally and it is very inspirational!
It was this van that motivated me to go the "do it yourself" route.
