Re: Barn door mystery switch

It activates the magnetic beer bottle cap catcher. Use it while popping the cap on a cold one. If it doesn't work just enjoy the beer.

Re: Barn door mystery switch

Just open the door to the storage compartment (in the pic) and look behind the switch for wires, or feel for them with your fingers. If there, check the ones in the rubber boot to the body.

Re: Barn door mystery switch

In my van I added a switch in that exact place to be able to turn off the barn door speaker. While I doubt SMB did that from the factory, it's worth a look.

I switched the speaker for two reasons: 1) we have a second-row captain's chair there for my son, and it's nice for him to be able to switch that off when he's reading or napping, and 2) with aftermarket stereos, sometimes the sound gets distorted because of the way Ford wired the center and rear speakers, creating impedance issues. Turning off that one speaker fixes the problem at loud volumes.

Just realized you said Barn door, not back doors. In that case, I have no idea.

Re: Barn door mystery switch

I wish I had a switch there to kill the dome light activation switch.

I went out and tried it and yeah, this is what it does. Even when it's on, that speaker is a lot quieter than the front door speakers.

Darn; I thought it would be really cool if it was the EJECT button.
