Sound deadning materials

Gregg ,
I have used five of the materials that you listed and the Second Skin was the best of the bunch for all of the sound deadning applications that we have used these products for , my son in law took samples to JPL and ran some different tests on three of the products and they were all very close in performance with the edge going to the Second Skin Damplifyer Pro , number two was the Dynamat Extreme , number three was the Damplifyer .
Second Skin has a material that can be used for a thermal barrier in your Dog House although I haven't tried it as I haven't noticed any heat problem's yet .

Yes, I was just looking at the new Second Skin website and saw the HeatWave and HeatWave Pro.

I think this may need a little more research. This may be what we want in the cab area.

OK... so what do we think "Heat Tolerance" would mean?

It sounds like a marketing term that may have no scientific basis....

Second Skin Deamplifier Pro has a 500 degree F Heat Tolerance.

I think I am forming a plan... can you smell it?

Noise Control

To throw this into the mix...a Google search for automotive noise insulation turned up this company in Oregon:

http://www.cascadeaudio.com/car_noise_control/index.htm

They have quite a few products available and seem competent. I'm in contact with them right now and may pursue one of their products to be used in addition to the Dynamat recently installed.

Lastly, another material found was America Mat:

For your consideration.
