You guys got me going on this one. It really sounds like there is an electrical gremlin somewhere. I recently had the same problem and found the ground on one of my batteries was rusted and basically no longer connected. With no solar my fridge was running on the one battery for only 2 days.

I now have both batteries working with solar and I haven't turned off the fridge in a month. I have a large solar bank, and live in AZ so the electric is a no brainer for me.

I would never go back to a gas fridge. Don't forget the hassle of crud getting into the burner pilot. My old gas fridge had to be disassembled and cleaned for every adventure.
