What all are you looking to replace? I have swapped door panels, and the consoles that attached to the doghouse are a direct swap. If you are talking about the actual gauges, radio, and heating/cooling vents I cannot speak to that, nor have I seen someone do it. SherriffDoug had a company do a LHD to RHD swap and that looked very involved!

Also, just curious what the motivation behind the swap is? Is your dash trashed or are you just looking to make it look more modern? Asking, because I wonder if someone here might have a suggestion to get you what you are looking to accomplish without needing to swap the entire dash.

It should be noted that the newer dash didn’t happened until 09 if that’s what you want. The front (hood, grill, etc) changed in 08 but the interior change was 09. Makes 08 a bit of a unique year.

@JWA has done such a swap, although I don't know if it was 2008 or newer.

I've seen pics of one swap. I think it may gave been a slightly newer van. From what I can find, the dash supports never changed, so the dash itself should swap over. HVAC controls swap over as well. But the cluster and radio won't be swappable. Starting with '04-ish those became CAN-BUS controlled, and you can't use CAN-BUS clusters or radios in a non-CAN-BUS van. But since the old radios were almost double-din (double-din fits with trimming) and the '09+ dash is slightly oversized for double din, you can use aftermarket head units with the appropriate trim kit. I don't know if the old cluster physically will bolt into the newer dash.

Not sure about what you mean by the above. I replaced the foam around my vents and they definitely put out more air. See post 93 on http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...dis-17684.html

Actually what I did was replace an '03 E250 instrument cluster (without tach) for a '99 F-Series cluster w/tach. Its a cool feature, I had plenty of time to devote to the preliminary work and at this point I'd say it was relatively "easy". Of course that's highly dependent on your skill level and general familiarity with Ford's wiring schemes and practices.

I've not tinkered with swapping the entire dash board but knowing Ford there would be a few wiring issues to overcome. Physically it should be almost a direct drop in as the bodies are probably very much the same from 2007 to 2009.

I'm not sure the aesthetic change would be worth the effort but that's just me. Its possible air flow through the defrost and/or dash vents was improved but for the most part I'm okay with the pre-2009 E-Series I have presently.

HTH

Did you end up going through with this? I have had this same idea for a while now.
