Day/Night Shades

The Day/Night Shades that came with my SMB are pretty nice, but after being used for years, a couple of the shade hold-downs have come off (and no wonder because I discovered that they are attached with a single screw driven through what amounts to about one millimeter of window frame plastic - its amazing they lasted this long with that kind of construction).

Anyhow can't figure out how to re-attach them without taking door panel off and I really don't even know how to do that.

Any suggestions?

Awesome instructions Jack/Jage.

So far my strings, etc. are intact but it looks like a rivet gun will solve my problem.

Thanks!

So here is a question for you!I presently have curtains and would like to replace with blinds(shades).
Do all shades come with the draw strings or can you get them without, and who would you recommend to buy them from.
Is it a viable option or should I just stick with curtains as I am starting to get used to the look.

I'd probably look for some kind of insulated curtains. At this point I use reflectix anyway at night. What I do like about the D/N shades is the daytime sheer which makes it hard to see inside but easy for anyone inside to have a bit more light and the ability to see out. The gap that my night shades have might bother some folks. Again I rarely use them because of the reflectix. Never had a string break yet.

I would like to have my day/night shades restrung and cleaned. Where should I look for this service?
