Doghouse install??

So after pulling the doghouse out for cleaning and prep work I went to put it back in. I slid it up under the dash and easy peasy right?!?! Well, I got to looking at it and now wondering if I installed it wrong. Not sure how to post pics otherwise I'd show what I've got.

Pretty sure you all know what I'm talking about here, but the seal has two lips sorta that seem to be perfect for inserting the metal cutout of the body in between. But it seems nearly impossible to do that, like I'd have to bend and contort the doghouse and really do some maneuvering to get it to fit like that. Is this right???

Or is it really that easy and just pushes into place super simple like, and latch the 4 latches and done in 30 seconds???

It's a little weird, you just kinda gotta jiggle it around until you figure out how it goes... After a few times you'll have no issues.

You shouldn't have to do any bending if the gasket is still glued properly to the doghouse but like rallypanam said its a bit awkward until you've done it a few times. Ulitimately, yes it should be 30 second to one minute type deal. Getting it sealed properly really had a huge effect on sound and temp so make sure and get it right.

I use some vaseline at the seal, it helps to make the job easier to center the doghouse exactly.

I've had the same problem and actually wrote down what I did after one success:

Replacing Engine Cover

Make sure that nothing is hanging down from above which might be caught between the cover and the seal surface.
If necessary, remove the knee cover on the passenger side.
Push the catch on the passenger side forward so that it can be hooked once the cover is in place.
Push the cover forward from the middle.
Go around and push the cover further forward from the driver side.
Go around and push the cover further forward from the passenger side.
On the driver’s side, reach up and push the inside clip to the inside of the mounting edge.
Check that the driver’s side clip clips on without stress.
Clip the passenger side clip.
Lock the bottom locks. Make sure that they are engaging the rod at the bottom.
