E350 Dash vents blow hot

I know I saw a reference to a mod that will correct the dash board heat issue but I can't seem to find it. The air coming out of my vents is considerably warmer than the outside air. I'd like to fix this before I head to Arizona next month. Anyone have a link?

My 05 does that if the AC isn't on. It's not fresh air, as I would define 'vent' at all. I'd love to know also if there's a fix. I've never heard of one though.

Is states 7.3psd but it's valid for a lot of vans also. Stops the coolent flowing into the cabin heat exchenger.

If you are going to do it, I personally think this is a better way, as rather than blocking the flow, it bypasses the core completley.

I knew you guys would have it. I searched for over an hour last night and had no luck. The dieselsite valve will work with the 6.0?

Don't forget, depending on the year 6.0 there is a metal restrictor in the pipe you need to cut, so be very careful where you cut it.

Thanks! I found it on the site and ordered one. Where does one find the restrictor? Is this covered in the instructions?

I doubt it's in the instructions. It's in the coolant pipe that runs from the engine (out) to the heater core (in). You have to cut the exact same pipe to add a coolant filter, so it's the pipe shown in this thread (picture 2 & 4).

The restrictor is just an aluminum tube placed inside the rubber pipe, so you should be able to squeeze the pipe with your hand, if you can't, don't cut it at that point.

Again not all 6.0's have it, as it was a recall / update, and I *THINK* if you do you will see a pipeclamp around the hose to hold the restrictor in place.

Not to hijack but should one leave or completely remove the restrictor. I wasn't sure when I did the coolant filter so I took it out.

I left mine in. My reasoning was, ford updated their design to restrict flow into the heat exchanger for a reason, and the ID of the T piece you put in was larger than the ID of the restrictor, so it would still allow more flow into the heat exchanger without it.
