If you want to run the heater continuously you need to make sure you have 12 volts applied to pin 10 of the time. If you put a switch inline with the 12 volts you can then use it as a time also. I thought SMB had the extra switch installed so this could be operated either way.
My 2008 SMB has that little rocker switch which allows extended timer use, keeping the heater on a very low setting all night for really cold nights. I recommend blasting it at high setting for a few minutes before shutting down after such a long spell to prevent fouling at the next startup.

If it's just a question of programing the timer this video explains it in simple steps. He's a bit choppy with the camera but you get the idea. My unit is on a 14 hour run before shutting down. Barry
