I have my fantastic fan mounted at the very rear fixed fiberglass hi top. it has worked flawlessly since day one which is only about 6 months ago. I Drive with it open, closed, partially open and yet to have any problems.the only time it makes sounds is when I'm parked and a gust of wind tries the open it from behind.

I had 3 fantastic fans on various CCV tops. My most recent build the fan has a lot of wind noise...this install I had it moved up vs others towards the center. I think this is the cause for more of the noise for sure. Its sealed up. What I have done is cut a piece of 3 inch foam I wedge up there for long drives...no more noise. From this experience I would say the position of the fan is why I see a lot more noise on this install vs last ones. I wanted however the fan to be centered more on the opening of the CCV top vs last ones it was more centered. I guess thats the trade off.
