Heater Craft

Pump?

How much battery will you need to run the blower and pump? And how long will it last?

The pump that comes with the Espar will circulate the coolant in the system.

Espar D5= Max 2.6A Min 0.5A
Pump= 1.5A
Heater Fan= 0.7A

Total= Max 4.8A Min 2.7A Avg 3.75A

Let's say running off one 4D 210Ah battery at 4A run time would be between 30 to 35 hours keeping a 50% discharge level.

That is straight run time, no charging, no other power draw. I'm not putting money on that calculation though!

The pump has a flow rate of 600L/h which is about 2.6 gpm.

The Espar puts out a max of 17,060 Btu and min of 4,435 Btu.

Heater has a max 19,250 Btu output. According to the output chart below, at 2.5 gpm with minimum water temp it should but out at least 10,500 Btu.

In theory this should work, right?

The Espar is likely limited to 180 F as any higher makes it a boiler not a water heater and more complicated. Now if the lawyers designed it to not burn anyone's fingers and the output is limited for protection to less than that you've got a whole new world.

Expect the opposite and designers would insist on a tempering valve; the output is 180. Any paperwork to suggest it?

Assuming you get the water to the heater at 175 or so, rubber is a great insulator, I'd expect north of 13K Btu.
