Honda red extension fuel tank-6 gal

Does anyone know if it's legal to carry this tank on top of the Aluminess box on the rear bumper in California? I've tried calling the highway patrol and they can't even tell me.

I am not sure what it looks likes or what the specs are. DO you have more details?

You can see it on Honda generator web sites. It measures 21" by 13" by 10" and would fit inside the rails on top of the box perfectly. What about other gas cans? I would think they would be legal. Where else would you carry them?

front and back side of my aluminess baja box
the rotpax is 2.5 gal, you can stack them and they now have a 3 gal

Re: Honda red extension fuel tank-6 gal

I have both types of fuel containers and have never had an issue with either .The Honda accessory tank sits very nicely atop our Aluminess Box and is held in place with Cam Straps .
The Roto Pax is attached to the inside rear of the box as shown above in the post .
www.wisesales.com for Honda Tank
www.rotopax.com for rear mounted tank

Incidentally I would not buy the cheap copy of the Rotopax tanks offere by Koplin as they are Chinese and have issues with durability and leaking I went thru 4 brand new and never used tank's that leaked before I went back to the Rotopax units . I mistakenly thought that the Koplin was made by Rotopax .

the roto pax

2 gal = 17 3/4 in x 13 1/4 x 3
3 gal = 16 in x 15 x 4 1/2

will look at mine and see if would fit behind baja box

Does the 3 gal Rotopax fit in behind of the Aluminess box?

Which mounting pieces did you get?
