How to seat the doghouse?

I removed to doghouse for noise insulation to the floor and on the engine side of the doghouse, but I am not certain how to put the doghouse back. It is a 1997 E350, 7.3 diesel.

Option 1: the metal edge that sticks up from the floor inserts into the fold of the rubber seal. This requires the doghouse to be slightly lifted and then dropped onto the metal edge, and the rubber would be on both the engine side and the interior side of the metal edge.

Option 2: just push the doghouse back towards the metal edge. The rubber seal is only on the front (inside the van side) of the metal edge, but not on the engine side of the metal edge.

Can someone please advise?

Many thanks, Marcel

Option 2. Just slide if forward, tapping on the sides/bottom until it's seated. Make sure the side tabs go into the firewall. Sometimes one of both can find itself on the wrong side. I've also found attaching the floor clips before the side clips seals it better.
