Need info on the Thetford Curve Porta Potti

I'm thinking about getting one but am unsure of the electric flushes reliability.Does anyone use this model or other Thetford electric flushing toilets?

Re: Need info on the Thetford Curve Porta Potti

I have had the same batteries in my Thetford for almost 4 years now and it has never failed me.
I do carry spares just in case...

Our electric Thetford P-P has been working since 2004 on the original batteries! And it gets plenty of use.

I have the Curve and it is a VAST improvement. Taller-so easier for a old guy in a tight space. Paper storage. Much better shape. Electric flush works great and the bowl is reshaped so stays much cleaner. Also a little easier to carry to empty. Best

Sounds like Thetford makes a good product. I'm sold. I am new to the portable potti deal. I looked at the curve at Camping world and think the design is so much better than the old styles but it will take up more space. Space well allocated in my mind. I like a compfy throne.

Re: Need info on the Thetford Curve Porta Potti

After taking the wife up to Ventura for our aniversary last weekend I came to the conclusion that the porta potti I bought just 3 months ago was not going to cut it.Don't get me wrong I got a tall boy with a 5gallon tank and it was ok for number 1 but after useing it for number 2 a couple of times at the beach I realized it's limitations. After some investigating and help here I ordered the Curve and await it's arrival with an anticipation that has me a little frightened. It is just a porta potti after all but after being spoiled all these years with my other RVs bathrooms I feel I have little choice. I'm thinking of even trying it out at home. Is that wrong. I admit I did not do that with the current pot.I guess that' enough about the subject but I will give full report after it arrives.

Re: Need info on the Thetford Curve Porta Potti

using thetford 465 daily (full time boondocker) since 10/1/11 on same set of batteries. working flawlessly.

fwiw...i use their campa-chem in the small bottle 6-pack. usually for around 7 bucks at walmart. works as advertised.

the curve came out a little after i got my 465. the curve looks like it would be a little more comfortable since its closer to one of those elongated bowl thrones. ive had to make some adjustments to use the 465 comfortably but i can say since i use it daily, i got used to it quickly and im a big guy. when the time comes though id probably opt for the curve.
