Pop out Econoline windows

Hey guys, I have 2013 Ford Econoline Quigley 1st post here but looking for information on mods or products that make the factory pop out windows electric and also with the factory hinge how much further would the window open if the latch was disconnected?

Maybe somebody can point me to an existing thread. Please and thank you

I've never seen this feature on a Ford van ever.

Never seen electric either. From having installed the rear popouts and replacing my side one after messing it up, they really don't go out much further. The hinges are more like a spring steel that bends more than it hinges.

Someone on here did a cool mode to there rear pop out windows. I just can't remember who? Anyone remember...?
In regards to electric pop out I'm in the same boat as 86scotty haven't seen it.

Thanks, my hands don't function well so it's difficult to open my side window. But I might just design something.

I have some mechanisms in my expedition vent windows that might do the trick. Something to look into anyway and you could probably grab some from a junk yard.

The latches actually have some adjustment in them for tension. The threaded shaft with the lock nutcan be backed off to alleviate the amount of squeezing necessary to open the window.

Before I bought my van I looked at a window/passenger van that was some sort of people hauler. The side window behind the driver was an emergency exit..you pulled pins on the latches and the window swung way open.

I did a search for this kit a few years ago but never found anything.....window looks 99.9% stock....just had two small pull pins with little retaining cables on the latches.

I'm doing the pop-out conversion today and noticed this fact as well (that the top of the pop-outs isn't really hinged). I had high hopes of installing a pull-pin (from Vanoptics) in the latch, and swinging the rear windows open for maximum airflow when parked occasionally.

@boywonder and others talking about this in 2017, have you guys seen someone try to mod those top latches to be an actual hinge? Seems pretty straightforward to just recreate the flat piece of steel "hinge" but with some kind of articulation.

I'm glad I looked at this, because I put the vanoptics pins in my driver's side window, and now realize a full swing-open should truly only be an emergency-exit move.
