RB30 Slide Pantry: Replacement latch?

We have the slide out pantry in our RB30 build. It has the usual 1/4 turn twist latch to keep it closed.

When driving bumpy dirt roads the latch constantly works itself loose and the pantry slides open.

Has anyone else addressed this problem? Any success with a different style latch?

The hole that this latch is mounted in is roughly 3/4".

Thanks!

BB

Re: RB30 Slide Pantry: Replacement latch?

Take a look at the pic below

Does your latch look like the one in the upper left or lower right? (Does it have grooves on the barrel or not?). If it's a different latch all together, then post a picture.

If no grooves you need to replace it with the one with the grooves. This is the twist to open version and is much more secure. It solved 95% of our unlatching problems on washboard roads. Make sure to replace the strike as well as the latch.

You can get these direct from Southco if not from SMB. It's called the Southco M1 push to close, turn to open and is on page 155 of their product line book.

Hope that helps.
