Re: Refrigerator Cabinet Cooling Fan

Adding a 12v computer fan to exhust air flow OUT of the fridge cabinet sounds like the way to go? My question is: what set-up do you use to turn the fan on/off? Just when the fridge runs (which should be an easy tap into the fridge hot wire) or manual, or on a timer, or ?????

Re: Refrigerator Cabinet Cooling Fan

I have a small thermostat at the rear of the fridge. This swich on/off the circuit of two fans.
One small (60mm diameter) at the heat exchanger of the fridge and one bigger (120mm diameter) i built in the wall between fridge and gaucho. He blows the air behind the gaucho. The thermostat opens at about 100F. The fanīs just work after turn the fridge on inside with the internal switch. In case it is off -for longer no use periode- the fanīs will not work also if the fridge is connected to the batterie
I took an old speaker bezel on the outside.

Re: Refrigerator Cabinet Cooling Fan

Wanted to keep it simple so just tapped the hot and ground wires to the fridge fan.
