Re: Refrigerators (2-way) 12v & 110v?

I have voted ASU my entire SMB life and not going to change no matter what anyone says. Besides ice cubes are for margaritas. Not for refreezing. Might pick up some desease from that process.

I personally don't think the ASU is hype. I'm not going to spend time proving it but it has worked great for us based on how we camp and the power systems we have in our rig. No melted water sloshing around. Does not take away any usable space from the box.
YMMV
So what was this post originally about?

Jim Hefner, I live in Costa Mesa and when ever I am home, I would be glad to let you see my Isotherm. P M me if you are interested. I will be gone for the next 2 weeks.

I love my Isotherm and never turn it off.

It certainly seems reasonable the ASU system works well. I guess it's a matter of degrees (pun). I'm actually still on the fence about the either the stainless ASU Isotherm or save a G and get the black Truckfridge...

At the very least, build the cabinet large enough to accommodate either. Worst case, you'll have room for extra air flow around the fridge if you go with the smaller dimensional unit.

Re: Refrigerators (2-way) 12v & 110v?

Ya, the cabinet size is something I've been thinking about. I am probably gonna pick a fridge and build the cabinet as tight as possible around it to save space. Especially the counter height issue. My plan is to NOT vent out the top front like they do on the Norcold. Instead I'm thinking of putting some type of grill just behind the drivers left shoulder to vent the heat. I don't really want heat dumping down my neck but I figure either the A/C or window down will resolve the small amount of heat coming around the drivers seat.

Refrigerators (2-way) 12v & 110v?

I would save the grand, you'll need it someplace else. Spending money on these things is addictive. Good luck!
