Scatter,
I have a factory wiring manual for an '05. Just spent 45 minutes trying to find the buzzer - no luck! Sorry.
Finally found the "Key in Switch" connector, but the circuit just goes into the instrument cluster and disappears. Maybe the chime is in the instrument cluster itself. It seems to indicate the seat belt chime is in the instrument cluster.

Yes there is some on/off wait, flash sequence. Of course once used it's forgotten. I even forgot that I had a seatbelt buzzer. It might be on here some where too, have you searched yet?

Yeah, I've used the manual to shut off the seatbelt buzzer, but the chime for leaving the key in the ignition is still there. That's the sucker I'm trying to find. When I'm done with a major honey-do here, I'll check into it once again.

I wouldn't be suprised if it's part of a larger component. The days of being able to pull just the buzzer are long gone. Good luck though!

How about the stereo speakers? Might be easy to disconnect all of them or cover them with blue tape and see.. Hopefully it's not built into the ECU.

The Ford manual is WRONG. I performed the routine to turn off the belt chime three times and it never worked. It's not confusing. Nine insertions of the buckle and then one more to finish. Don't work!
NRL said the buzzer was "a grey box with a plug on the bottom. Just pull it out." Sorry there is NO grey box anywhere. What year is your van? How about a pic?
I'm so tired of this crap.

I've used the Ford manual to turn off the seat belt chime, and it worked fine. This did nothing for the key left in the ignition chime though That sucker has to be hard wired into a super hidden black box.
The search continues....

Key-in Chime
Scatter,
The easiest way to stop the Key-In Chime is a Black w/ Pink wire under the lockset. Just remove the lower cover for the steering column. Unscrew the tilt handle and 3 screws. You can also locate it at the connector just to the right of thr steering column behind the Knee Bolster it only grounds out so it doesn't seem to affect any other systems. I snipped mine and all is well. Even Better as the Chime has stopped. I'm now in the process of installing the Ford Remote Start system. I may have to find a way around the Key-In Sensor another way but no problems as yet.
I have a 2007 E-Series Wiring Manual and it made it much easier.

oldbonesclimber - I saw that wire on page 60-1 of my wiring diagram, but also noticed that it goes to the dreaded (gasp) PCM. There's not many things that my feeble old mind remembers, but I do remember messing with the PCM on my old van and having the pleasure of purchasing and installing a new one.
But, it's nice to see someone else that is willing to grab the bull by the horns, er the wire by the snippers, and have at it. Well, seeing as how you did it (you did do it didn't you, not just said you did?) I reached under the dash, while my key was in the ignition chimeing away, and did the deed. After one last bong, blessed silence!!!! Of course, after the sparks died down, the van won't start, but at least it's quiet with the key hanging there and the door open while I work on the repairs....
JUST KIDDING, it's GREAT!!!
Thanks for taking the time to look it up and post the fix.
