Sink- water supply options
I have a sink in our rig hooked up to a 20 gal tank. The pump is toast so I'll get another. My question is can I somehow just put a 5ga jerry can under the sink and use that with a pump? Never seen this anywhere but would like to free up some storage space by eliminating the 20 ga tank under the sofa.

Re: Sink- water supply options
Yes, I have seen this. What I would like to do is install a pump under the sink ,hook it to our aux battery, and have it get the water from a jerry can underneath. This is totally doable right??

All it takes is multiple trips to Lowes (usually for the one fitting you forgot last time you went).

Re: Sink- water supply options
Sometimes when working on the van it's easier just to park at Lowes and do it there!

Re: Sink- water supply options
7 gallon Aquatainer (Walmart) and Shurflo pump ($40ish, Amazon) and a few fittings and hoses from Lowe's worked for me. It lasts us a weekend before it needs filling, unless we wash a lot of dishes.
Here's a better shot of the counter and sink that it's under

Re: Sink- water supply options
I have the same sink/faucet that 86Scotty has. It is about perfect in size and depth for a van, and comes complete... just add pipes... from Home Depot. I couldn't find anything close to it except in the marine world, and they were usually too shallow, or had no faucet/valve set-up, or too spendy.
When you are driving, the spout shakes like a chihuahua $hittin' a log chain, so I added a small collar of black-foam pipe insulation to settle it. Just right!
