Sprinter seat swap

I’m looking at options for my E350 SMB seat replacement. I looked at the scheelmann seats...way too expensive for me and hard to justify 4K...
I have a late model sprinter and like the seats in it. I saw a post where someone did the swap but very little info and pics were posted.
Has anyone else done this and how difficult was it? Seatbelts an issue?
Also... if anyone has a pair of sprinter seats I would be interested.
Thanks

Not sure what year your van is, but I’ve been looking for an upgrade for my 06 vinyl buckets for a while.

Lots of guys over on ExpoPortal like the Sienna take-outs you can find on EBay. They can also get pricey if you go for leather and add a set of swivels from BaseFab (MG metalworks/Expo vans). To the best of my knowledge they won’t work with the SMB swivels. BaseFab sells fixed bases as well.

What I opted for was to keep my eyes open for a set of 09+ fronts from any E-series van. They are the newer captain style chairs. I ended up scoring a pair out of an 11’ E150 from the salvage yard a few weeks ago. Paid $160 for the pair. The bolstering is a little blown out and the fabric has a few small rips, but ultimately my plan is to have them reupholstered in leather, fix up the foam and add seat heaters. I figure I’ll be all in for under $1000 for the pair, and I get to keep my swivels. All Ford OEM stuff as well, which is a nice bonus. Click image for larger version

Seems like the Transit seats are a little better fit. Either way, the new seats have integrated seatbelts. So there's no worries about buckle compatibility, but you have to make sure the seat tracks are will anchored with appropriate backing plates.

I have the stock 2001 seats and find them quite comfortable, but would like to change the covers for leather, but the only ones I've found have been ridiculously expensive. Have you found reasonably priced replacement leather covers, or will you have an upholstery shop custom make them?

BetOnBlack did Sprinter seats. If he’s the member you refer to, disregard this message. But if not, check out his build thread.
