Whew! Given my own experiences with the factory mat/padding as it lays against the metal floor (from the factory) and all the rust it causes I was concerned your material of choice might be replicating the problematic situation.

I'm be interested to know how effective your material will be---it seems quite expensive at least over what I've used for this same purpose. I'm not against spending more if it's worth it---after all its basically a one time expense anyway.

Regardless hope this goes quickly and as easy as can be.

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Most of the van is done as of last night. Looking forward to a test drive today.

My main intent for the insulation was for heat reduction from the floor of the cab area. Results to follow....

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Took a quick drive on the freeway and as expected the van is definitely quieter in many ways. Heat test up next....

Passenger Side panel insulation.

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Brent, any updates? I made PH insulation panels out of that same material that I could place against the PH canvas when it was really cold outside. I just covered the edges with white duct tape. Worked well, but a little bulky to store with the PH down.

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Herb, I need to get on that review!! I've taken some winter temp readings and a few summer temps for comparison. I'll put something together this week. Thx for the reminder!

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Review/recap on the insulation. It has definatley made a difference in the temps in the van in heat and cold. Not as much as I would like but it's hard to gauge exactly what the temp differences really are without a controlled environment. I used a laser thermometer for a couple weeks in the heat and cold on areas not insulated vs insulated.

I'll upload a few pics in the next post. Since my walls are not finished yet I may just add another layer to the areas that I can.

The floor of the van still has more heat coming through it than I would like but again it't better than it was and overall glad that I made the addition.

Started the insulation process yesterday....

Measurement on the passenger rear quarter next to the ladder. Next measurement was on the inside in the same area. The Propex was on all night.

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

Nice job on the insulation. What did you use to attach the insulation to the walls?

Re: Started the insulation process yesterday....

^^ was wondering the same. Plus was something put in the void between inner and outer sheet metal?
