Swap Furnace for A/C Unit??
This is a longshot, I know.
Looking into the possibility of pulling the suburban furnace in our '87 GMC, and putting our window a/c unit in it's place. We have an unconventional layout- vanity is directly behind the drivers seat, and the furnace is housed at the bottom of the vanity. I am optimistic that since there is already venting for the furnace, that we can rig it so the a/c unit can be put there with a small drain for condensation or something to the outside. We live in Florida, so air is crucial, and not having to lug the thing from under the bench seat into the window every time we set up camp would be magical.
Has anyone attempted something like this? Or even just taken out a pre-2000's suburban furnace? I'm terrified of opening a can of worms as soon as I start unbolting things.
