vapor barrier

My window lift mechanism failed so i replaced it. I tried to carefully peel back the vapor barrier but it was glued on very well and i ripped it, its now unusable. Anyone know where to get a new one or what to use in place of the OEM?

I had to replace my drivers side earlier this year. I also ripped the VB. Replaced it with some left over DynaMat that I got from a forum member. It is doing double duty, sound deadening and VB. You can buy door kits on line, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...namat+door+kit

Garage
Why not just use some Tuck Tape to repair the ripped OEM one?

Hi,

Any heavy plastic will do: 6 mil works for houses. I think contractor garbage bags are 5 mil.

Regards,

Gavin

Totally---and they can be split apart for double their size AND useful for actually putting garbage in them too.

Would 3.5 mil do the trick? Just found a leftover roll of plastic sheeting in my garage?

Nothing wrong with two layers tightly sandwiched behind the door panel.
