Water Pump won't stop running

So I replaced my water pump with a direct replacement so solve a water leak issue with the pump seal and the new one wouldn't stop running. I presume that it needs or me primed to remove the air but can't find any instructions on this.

Is this the problem and how do I remove all the air from the system.

More likely you have a leak or crack somewhere in the line or fittings, my pump ran when there was a crack in the city water fill hookup letting air into a pressurized system.

I've had a similar problem. Does water come out of the sink or shower head (if you have one) when the pump is on? If not, you are correct and there is air in the system.

After draining the pipe and pump for winter, I have to push all the air out. My pump won't pull water by itself when there's air in the pipes. Hook the city water supply up, and open the valve to the water storage tank. After you get some flow going in the pipes, turn the pump on. You should hear a change in tone as it starts pumping water.

If the pump never seems to shut off, you may have a leak somewhere, or the pump is either circulating water from the storage tank and back into it (close the tank fill valve to stop this), or is filling something like the water heater, if equipped.
