550k miles living aboard

Just a old Sportsmobile report. Purchased a 2003 E350 with Quigley, pop top and all the trimmings. Visited all 3 fine Sportsmobile facilities in putting 550,000 miles in live aboard travel from Alaska to Mexico to Newfoundland to Florida several times and point inbetween for 12 years. The experience, service and fun will last our lifetime and memories are still on the top of our mind. We spent a couple of years in Earthroamer, which was nice and memorable for 125,000 miles. But Sportsmobie life was the pièce de résistance.

Thanks for the memories and may be back in family with a lot more tamer Sportsmobile. We miss not being in the family.

Peace and godspeed as you make your memories

What a tease, we need more details and a large amount of photos to go along with a story like that!

living 550k full time

Volumes of photos, more stories than can remember. Wife is birder and we chased birds for here to there and back. Often called to help others who needed help and here we would go from Alaska to San Diego or from Nova Scotia to Missouri.

The freedom was incredible. Driving cross country was not a big deal. Often headed out with no destination in mind. We tried to chase not only birds, but the weather we liked..ie mild. Having said that we found ourself in 10 foot snow drifts in Alaska and heat waves in the south.

We blew tire out on Translabrador Highway we shall never forget, seeing a stampede of muskox headed to Prudhoe Bay, seeing mountain lion with cubs in Montana, seeing grizzly headed our way hiking in Denali, spending time in Dawson City, Yukon, Kennicot mine in MCarthy, living on sailboat in Keys inbetwee Alaskan trips, ferry from/to Newfoundland ...way too long...even short one...BUT Newfies are the best folks in world. That being said, we enjoyed every stop, visit and 99.999% of folks we met on the way.

But for some surgery, we would still be out there. 71 and 69 ages. Left 2002 on sailboat and stopped 2015.

Some of the best trips begin with no real destination in mind. For many of us, it's the journey, not the destination. There is a one word definition of that style of travel "Coddlewampling" Congratulations on being able to see and do so much, hopefully with more to come.
