Heading to Weiser next week for the eclipse.
I want to go trap shooting (Weiser Gun Club).
Anything else to visit on Saturday or Sunday?

If you have bikes, there's the Weiser River Trail. It's a converted railroad bed so never very steep. If you go north to south, it's downhill. There are shuttle companies in town that will drop you off and you can ride back into town.
If you do the trail, bring spare tubes or better yet, tubeless tires, because goatheads (puncture vine) are very bad in spots.
Other than that, I don't think there's too much happening in Weiser (pronounced weezer) outside of the Fiddle Festival which already happened in June.
Gotta ask, of all places, why Weiser?

^^^ cool, I didn't know about that. sounds like a great place to go once my wife can peddle a bike again. thanks for the tip
only thing I can think of in that general area is checking out the Owyhee dam canyon. really scenic canyon with some natural hotsprings and a cool old one lane tunnel you can drive through. not sure if the glory hole is still flowing though. was pretty cool in the spring when the runoff was heavy.

I lived in Ontario for a few years. Such incredible country! If you have a day, one of my all-time favorites is Hells Canyon. Check out the maps... you can go from either side, each have their special views. Easiest roads are up to the dam. Fantastic views and something that should not be missed if at all possible.
Here's a couple of links:

Have a great time!

Just saw a report on the local noon news and...
evidently Weiser is having a big ol' eclipse party.

So, there should be plenty to do.
I'd second seeing Hell's Canyon. A jet boat ride on the Snake is an adrenaline rush if you're into that stuff. Some years ago, we did a multi-day raft trip down the Snake and then loaded our gear into a jet boat and ran the river backwards. I'm not a big fan of jet boats on scenic rivers but it was a hoot.

When I made the plans, Weiser was projected to be the 2nd best place in the country to have clear skies for the eclipse.
Traffic will be bad but not projected to be as bad as Oregon or Eastern Idaho.
