Hello, . . . It's Me

I've already started posting and thought I should circle around and introduce myself.

I'm a lifelong vanner; started with a 69 Chevy and currently have a 2012 E350 RB XLT passenger van. My usual setup is open cargo area with paneling, carpet and a removable bench seat for a few extra passengers. This openness in the rear worked well for our various pursuits; camping, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, dual sport motorcycling and home improvement store trips.

As my wife Sherry nears joining me in retirement, I want to convert it to 4WD and build it out to make long and remote camping trips more comfortable. So I'll probably be posting a lot in the Home Build section and hopefully in the Meet-Up section.

We're in San Francisco and I've already met Ray (1der) as I've already bought seat swivel bases, door talon and awning brackets from him. Looking forward to meeting more of the locals.

And a few pics to show you what I'm starting with.

--Joe

Very nice, your lucky to be in one of the hot beds of Sportsmobile activity. There are plenty of friendly folks in the S.F. area, and a few hours south is a huge number of suppliers, converters, and service providers. Welcome..

Yeah, I wonder if I keep buying his stuff because I feel guilty asking tons of questions whenever I meet him. Unfortunately for him I only live a mile away and request local pickup. Heck I even bought awning brackets and I don't even own an awning.

Wow, He's either an amazing salesman, or he put one hell of a guilt trip on you.

I'm assuming he's on the hunt for a van... but if he's NOT and could potentially be looking for a home for that UJOR kit....
