Well if what you see on Craigslist and eBay are any indication, all it takes to be a Sportsmobile is this:

Had a chuckle on that one! Last year we spotted a 70's white station wagon (complimented by a considerable amount of rust) in the Adirondacks that had the Sportsmobile decals on the front fenders.
In some way I think we are all guilty of the same vanity, Whats that saying about a Pig & Lipstick? I know my ego increases a bit when wearing a nice suit & tie.

When did SMB switch from MDF?

I asked SMB Texas if they use plywood or MDF for their cabinets. They claim they use plywood now. If true, when did they switch? My observation is that plywood is stronger, lighter and holds screws better than MDF, but it is more likely to warp. In any event, SMB conversions look beautiful, even after years of heavy use.

Handyman,
Which model of their pop-top do you have? Is your econoline extended or standard-length box. Pictures please! I have a u-joint equipped van and the Colorado tops look just amazing but I've yet to see their slim top while closed on a E-350. Curious of the profile.
