Seems this post came up before. I saw this grill at SMBW. Not all black though.

I was told they were going make it an option. Did it fall through?

I have not seen or heard anything about a billet grill option on the 2008 for some time.

The grill I was refering to is the standard form of the 2008 Ford grill, but available in black and white also.

We went with the black, but I am curious what the white would look like.

Ahhh... I had scrolled all the way tot the bottom looking for it. I did not notice it buried in that first photo. I wonder how long that has been there.

That looks like the standard chromer version.

Billet Grills

An update on the Billet Grill...

SMB had a grill designed for the 2008 vans, however it ended up blocking too much air. The grill simply bolted on over the factory grill as an insert. The biggest issue is the transmission cooler which is located just behind the Ford symbol. With the billet insert only blocking more air, the transmission temps would rise dramatically.

An attempt at making the grill work required cutting the middle area of plastic and doing some mods to an earlier model grill (Dave B posted a picture in this thread of that grill)...result = too much time spent on the mods and installation to make sense. If you aren't into the chrome look, a black replacement grill is available. the top van pictured on the following link will show the black grill option.

http://www.sportsmobile.com/z-IS_calif.html

For 1992-2007 model year vans there is a billet grill that works great. Either a chrome or powder coated black grill is available through SMB West.
