As a future owner with a SMB currently in-process, I continue to ask about a billet grill..... to this point the answer has been not yet...
I agree that the giant chrome grill is not the most attractive..... there is a Black version of that same grill which our McBeast will be getting soon. I think it runs about $265 installed from SMB. The black in my opinion is a dramatic improvement.

Loaded 2008 Sportsmobile: $108,000
Flat black spraypaint: $3
Not having the mega chrome grille: priceless

Spraypaint
Just in case you're being halfway serious about the spraypaint.... I've did this with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (the Laredos get flashy chrome grilles) when it was brand new, and even though I scuffed the chrome with sandpaper beforehand, the black paint slowly gets chipped off over time by flying road debris.
I wonder if some of that plastic-dip tool-coating stuff would work better.

The Jeep guys swear by Krylon fusion for redoing the plastic fender flares on Wranglers. Plus my factory Jeep grill is all chipped up, and it's metal. It would probably be worth sandblasting the crome instead of just sanding or scuffing it. But yeah, I'd paint that dude in a heartbeat. Worst case is you have to buy a different grille in the near future.

2008 E350 Billet Grille
I believe I did see one in the factory video from someone on post in January. of 08. We knew about the front end change in 08, so chose an 07 to beat all the chrome. Those with the SMB billet grille may want to check the lower mounting screws, as ours skewed off the plastic behind the grill and did not attach.

Believe it's a factory Ford part, for the lower end trim level cargo van.

Dave,
Are you looking for the billet grill for 2007 and earlier Fords? or the black grill that is currently the 2nd option for 2008 Fords?
The billet grill can be had from SMB or from the supplier I suspect (and they would probably be happy to give you the siupplier).
The Black grill is only available as a replacement part for the 2008 Ford E-Series; it is not part of any option package.
