Here's today's progress!!!

Note..my horn sucks...so its hard to hear..but after the swap I didn't have a horn in any configuration YET

I discovered the existing clock spring in my van was in good shape only missing one wire that the busted one from the donor didn't have..

Got it all apart..soldered in the missing wire..ran it thru the plug and connected it to the correct terminal..found the diagram and moved my green wide in the brown plug to match the wiring diagram...

Didn't work...

Moved it back...

Still didn't work

Downloaded the fuse diagram and poked a little but seems like everything's there..

Ran out of time...and figured out why my van is being slow to start sometimes...don't buy CHEAP BATTERY TERMINALS!! previous owner did..it melted as I was overdrawing power from drained batteries..heavy duty one in place now...starts much better..

Lets see what daylight brings..

Good grief it looks like surgery on your van today, but good job!

That battery terminal looks like it's aluminum, I've only seen a couple of those and always wondered if they would last.

NAH.....surgery is swapping a 4.9L Inline 6 into a ford ranger...stand alone engine harness...stripping out the old chassie...

that was MILES of wires...and quite a lot of staring at wiring diagrams!!

those thin walmart/vato-zone clamps just cant handle the AMPS!!!

TODAY....found the fuse was blown...gonna swap the pins back real quick and see if it pops the fuse...its quick and easy to try...

might actually have to take this one to the dealer and have it turned on!!!

SUCESS!

Jumped the green/orange and red on the pigtail for the master cyl pressure sensor!!

Blown fuse on horn....still no cruise...so I looked at the way other folks did theirs...I didn't have a pressure sensing switch on my master but could see a wire I knew should be plugged into it..(probably been replaced before)..

One guy jumped his out with a splice..

Well...it works!! Dash indicator and everything!!!

Total cost $12..I was able to reuse my clockspring...add one wire to the existing connector..and $12 for the steering wheel!!

Its harnessing my ADHD....I'm surprised I'm as fat as I am!!

Hour drive and I'm totally in love with it! Works flawless....

On..then once you press set it lights the dash indicator and your cruising!! Brake pedal shuts it down..off shuts it down....coast lets it coast....resume resumes....works like it's always been there!!

Will any E-series steering wheel with cruise work? F-series too?

Was yours a junkyard find? Did they have any others? Out here in CA they're way more than $12!

Wanderer, what year is your van?
On my 2000,2001,2003 &05 none had the indicator light on the dash...
And we'll done! Glad to hear another happy owner with CC

Yes...from the research I did they all interchange...some of them have 6 buttons vs 5...but the ribbon can handle 8 wires..2 for airbag and 5 for other buttons..mine only used 3 wires for horn and cruise combined and 2 for ABS...SO I MAY add an air horn button to the stock steering wheel and have 2 wires already in the clock spring open to use.

2003 e350 7.3 stock cargo van rear hvac...hand crank windows manual door locks..cassette radio...bone stock config
